CRM Mixture Speeds
Cayman Chemical’s Phytocannabinoid Mixture 10 (CRM) is a
quantitative, multi-analyte mixture
for use as an analytical standard in
the simultaneous detection of the
10 most prevalent phytocannabinoids
found in cannabis plants: cannabidivarin (CBDV), cannabidiolic
acid (CBDA), cannabigerolic acid (CBGA), cannabigerol (CBG),
cannabidiol (CBD), cannabinol (CBN), tetrahydrocannabinolic
acid A (THCA-A), Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9-THC), Δ8-tet-
rahydrocannabinol (Δ8-THC), and (±)-cannabichromene (CBC).
The CRM was designed in conjunction with Shimadzu Scientific
Instruments for use on their Cannabis Analyzer for Potency to
make phytocannabinoid quantitation as efficient and error-free
as possible. Whether used with
that analyzer or with other HPLC,
LCMS or GCMS instrumentation,
this mixture can serve as a quanti-
tative analytical reference standard
during routine analytical checks,
cannabis product quality testing and
profiling, academic cannabis research,
or other forensic testing. The CRM
has been manufactured under ISO/IEC
17025:2005 and ISO Guide 34:2009
specifications and is formulated as an exempt preparation to
meet criteria established by the U.S. DEA. Possession of a U.S.
DEA Controlled Substance registration is not necessary, nor is a
DEA 222 form required to purchase this product.

A built-in cold trap provides high levels of solvent recovery, even
with volatile organic solvents. Auto-draining ensures optimal
solvent recovery is maintained under all conditions. Designed to
dry or concentrate up to six flasks, each containing a maximum
of 450 mL of solvent, or 18 ASE vials, the evaporator requires
no user intervention or attention.

Freezer Receives ENERGY
Stirling Ultracold’s SU780XLE Upright Freezer
has qualified for ENERGY STAR certification,
which was recently established by the EPA for
laboratory grade refrigerators and freezers in the
ULT category. By selecting ULT freezers that have
received ENERGY STAR certification, researchers
finding cures for diseases will now have confi-
dence in the energy savings and environmental
sustainability of certified ULT storage products
that preserve critical biological specimens for their
work. Using the ENERGY STAR test protocol, en-
ergy consumption of the freezer was independently
verified as .286 k Wh/day/ft3 (at -75 C). These test
results were nearly 50 percent below the Maximum
Daily Energy Consumption Requirements (.55
k Wh/day/ft3) for ULT freezers, as published by
the EPA in May.
